7. How to use SPIN
How to use the filewindow with the keyboard
[SPACEBAR] is used to select the chosen option
[TAB] is used to change the focus to the next input field
[SHIFT+TAB] is used to change to focus to the previous input field
[ENTER] is used to leave the filewindow and keep the changes that are made
[ESC] is used to leave the filewindow and lose the changes that are made
General cursorkeys are used to move the cursor within the input fields
You will now see the following Menu items: File, Go to, Bookmark and Help.
First we look at the Menu item File, below this Menu item you can find the following options:
New (This option is unavailable at the moment)
Description:
With the menu-option New you can make a new HTML-Page.
Usage:
Choose from the Menu File => New
You now have to give a name to the new file. If the file already exists, you are asked to overwrite this file.
Shortcut:
Open
Description:
With the menu-option Open you can load an existing HTML-Page in the internal
memory.
Usage:
Choose from the Menu File => Open
SPIN will now present a window in which you can type in the name of
the page you want to open.
Shortcut:
Edit (This option is unavailable at the moment)
Description:
With the menu option Edit you can edit the HTML-Page which currently is in the internal memory.
Usage:
Choose from the Menu File => Edit
You can now enter the editor to add or to delete your new text or a picture/image.
Shortcut:
Open URL
Description:
With the Menu-option Open URL you can open a new location.
Usage:
Choose from the Menu File => Open URL
SPIN will now show a window in which you can give a new location, such as: http://www.saturnus.nl.
Shortcut:
Save Page
Description:
With the Menu-option Save Page you can save the current HTML-page either
on the harddisk or on a floppy disk.
Usage:
Choose from the Menu File => Save Page
A window will be presented in which you can indicate the directory in which
you want to save the current page and it's pictures.
Shortcut:
Contact modem
Description:
With the Menu-option Contact modem you can start to phone in.
Usage:
Choose from the Menu File => Contact modem
SPIN will now try to make an internet connection with your provider.
Shortcut:
Disconnect modem
Description:
With the Menu-option Disconnect modem you can terminate the contact with the internet.
Usage:
Choose from the Menu File => Disconnect modem
SPIN will now stop the connection with the internet provider.
Shortcut:
Show picture/image
Description:
With the Menu-option Show Picture/Image you can indicate if the picture
should be shown or not during the viewing of the page.
Usage:
Choose from the menu File => Show Picture
When this option is marked by the sign of a little checkmark, the pictures are shown.
If it is not marked, the pictures will be presented as borders with alternative texts.
Shortcut:
Close
Description:
With the Menu-option Close you can quit the program SPIN and return to MS-DOS.
Usage:
Choose from the Menu File => Close
